Make a Difference
in a
child’s life

There are 5 branches of iKhethelo that all our various projects fall under .

Maybe you can help us in one or two of our projects mentioned. Consider volunteering or passing on your expertise to help us make a difference in our children’s lives.

Two children’s villages, iKhethelo and Lily look after approximately 170 children between them, caring for orphaned and vulnerable children with unconditional love. In this way these children are given a home, a family, and sense of belonging.

From early childhood development (ECD) through to High School our goal is to promote excellence in education, and a life-long love of learning. We have our own iKhethelo School on-site, which acts as a bridge for our children into mainstream schooling.

We are currently engaging in a water harvesting project ( sponsored by Hillcrest Rotary) and a veggie garden. Both will ensure we have access to free water and affordable food and help in this area of sustainability.

This is a multi-tiered strategy for transforming our poorest and most broken communities through a wide range of training and mentoring curriculums – from basic skills through to NGO and PBO leadership. Our children go through various leadership trainings to ready them for life outside the village.

At the epicentre of the HIV/AIDS pandemic we see our role as a catalyst for improved health services to the poorest of the poor. While our government struggles with the weight of the pandemic we are trying to limit the number of poor who fall through the cracks. To this end we partner with many others on the medical front, and focus much of our effort on helping those in crisis – particularly the children and elderly.
