OUR VISION

Our mission is to love and nurture orphaned and vulnerable children into wholeness, to give them hope, and to equip them to lead happy, healthy and fulfilled lives.

Our vision is to lovingly raise vulnerable children to become leaders that one day develop sustainable, healthy communities and break the orphan cycle.

A Loving Community Raising Vulnerable Children To Wholeness

to give them HOPE, and to EQUIP them to lead HAPPY, HEALTHY and FULFILLED lives.

‘ The true character of society is revealed in how it treats its children.’

–  Nelson Mandela ( September 1997 )  –

It takes a village to raise a child. We provide many areas of love, care & nurture for our children.
We have identified 4 main pillars of focus to help raise our children to wholeness and Build a Brighter Future for each child in our care.

SPIRITUAL

We believe that God has a plan and destiny for each of our children and model Christian values.
We attend City Hill Church in Hillcrest, where our children are involved and love being a part of the children’s church. We also have a Wednesday night youth group where we worship, pray and have fun together as a village plus Friday Kidz Bible Clubs.

HEALTH

Physical and mental health play a big role in the development of a child. We have partnered with Dr Bohmer & Breedt in Hillcrest to help give our children the best medical care.
Here our children receive free doctor consultations. Specsavers have assisted with free eye tests, and we are looking to partner with more health care organisations.

EDUCATION

Receiving a good Education is a major key to a successful future and breaking out of the orphan cycle.
We have over half our children attending Model C School Fee Paying Schools, which provide a better education with more opportunites.

This is only made possible by a number of school fee donors and in particular 1000 Hills in Germany who fund over 15 school fees for our children.

ENVIRONMENT

Your physical & emotional environment play a big part in your development of a child.

Our children have had a rough start in life, and we make a big effort to ensure their physical environment is colurful and bright, and that all their physical needs are met. We also focus on their emotional environment, where they are nurtured, loved, provided for , encouraged and supported to live a happy and healthy life.

‘ EDUCATION is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. ‘
– Nelson Mandela –

FUTURE VISION …

Help us build a

Baby
Home

Please pray with us as we pursue a dream to build a Baby Home for up to 12 Babies (Birth to 3 Years) on our land at iKhethelo Children’s Village.
This is a BIG Vision & we are going to need Millions to build a state of the art Baby Home to help save lives of abandoned babies, and provide foster and adoptive parents for babies.

Why?

An estimated 40 000 babies are abandoned every year in South Africa & only about 3000 are saved. The rest sadly die in abandoned fields, thrown into rivers, toilets etc.

If you or your company would like to help with this project, please contact Graeme at graeme@ikhethelo.org

Below: This is the area at the side of the village where we would like to build the iKhethelo Baby Home. Watch this space for drawing plans from an architect helping us desig the home.
